Ambrosia Homes is a privately owned, Chicago-based home building company that was formed in 2008 by Dave Gest and Tim Pomaville, two friends who love building homes. Since our inception, Ambrosia has built over 80 single family homes in Chicago and the immediate suburbs. We build both ground up new construction homes and also gut-rehab and restore existing homes whenever possible. Ambrosia's focus on design is evident in every house we build. And we're known for customizing homes for buyers which is why many of Ambrosia's projects sell before they come to market.

Tired of seeing the same floor plans over and over? Looking for something original? Regardless if the house is new construction or a gut-rehab, Ambrosia's process of building always starts with a focus on design, with an eye towards building unique but very livable spaces. Form always follows function, but there is no need to be boring about it! We always start with open layouts with extra-large windows that let in as much natural light as possible. But we AMAZE with extra tall ceilings or open stairwells or even a multistory atrium whenever possible! We WOW with chef inspired kitchens with pantries and huge islands. We EXCITE with giant master bathrooms and closets. But we don't forget the PRACTICAL features like usable mudrooms and extra storage! Our spaces are FLEXIBLE to be decorated in many ways, from very traditional to extremely modern.

Do you love the design website www.Houzz.com? Do you have specific ideas of what your dream house should look like? We will build it for you! Many builders won't let you make any changes to their projects- Ambrosia is completely the opposite! Bring your design ideas, especially when a home is just starting. We charge extra for customizations but we will credit you for the standard feature costs of the home- you'll definitely save money versus doing it later. Our standard home package is gorgeous, with design cues from Houzz.com, Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware. But it's also not uncommon for our buyers to purchase a home during construction and then to modify appliances, tile, counter tops, paint colors, carpet and even hardwood styles to suit their specific tastes.
